In a solitary life there are rare moments when another soul dips near yours, as stars once a year brush the earth. Such a constellation he was to me.

For the last few weeks, the celestial showpiece, Comet ATLAS, has graced us in the Northeast with her presence as it circumnavigates our solar system – 44 million miles ( 70 million km) away.
The comet is 2 miles in diameter with a tail that stretches tens of millions of miles!
ATLAS will be visible in the night sky, just north west of Venus until the end of October as it travels further and further away from Earth.
It will not reach our solar system for another 80,000 years, making this spectacle truly worthwhile to see!
I am a star gazer. I can spend hours watching the cosmos, my mind full of questions that might never be answered. Some are about the universe, while others are closer to my heart. I often think of some people and wonder if they are looking at the same stars I am.
I think about those who have passed on and whether or not we are made of stardust. If so, I would like to believe I will recognize those I knew who were special to me.
Let’s glitter like diamonds forever….
